About Message Boards & Forums, the names.
The name message board is the general name for a list of forums. Or, a list of forums within a list of categories. And within a list of forums is a list of Topics. A Topic would be the start of a thread. A particular person that starts a topic is considered the lead. After a topic is started, then people can start adding their own comments, quoting the previous person if you wish.
